Restrictions lifted at popular beach following sewage scare

It does not necessarily reflect the view of The Herald. A popular beach has been cleared for bathing after it was closed over fears of a sewage leak. Paddling and swimming were restricted at Saltcoats in Ayrshire last week after a member of the public raised the alarm. Specialists from SEPA carried out an investigation, while officials from North Ayrshire Council conducted their own enquiries.
