Reed E. Pyeritz, pioneering medical geneticist and Penn professor emeritus, has died at 78

His 44 years of research and clinical work, from 1978 to 2022, advanced the understanding and management of diseases, and extended the life expectancy of Marfan syndrome patients by 30 years.
