Red Arrows display at Southport Air Show halted as 'unsafe' warning issued
Hundreds of people attended the air show today16:39, 30 Aug 2026The Red Arrows display at the Southport Air Show came to an abrupt end this afternoon. The official aerobatic display team of the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force delighted attendees at the show yesterday with their showcase of speed and precision flying.As per the schedule, they took to the skies again at today's show at 3.30pm. However, the performance stopped after just two minutes as an announcement told attendees it was "unsafe" for the Red Arrows to continue due to the weather. Conditions had started off as dry but it was raining heavily as the Red Arrows display started.Around 200 people were near the seafront, including lots of families, at the time.
