Rangers bring back Scott Morrow in defensive boost

The Rangers bolstered their defensive depth on Wednesday, signing Scott Morrow to a one-year, two-way deal. According to The Post’s Mollie Walker, the contract is for $850,000 at the NHL level and $125,000 at the AHL level. The 23-year-old Morrow, a right-handed defenseman who played 29 games for the Rangers last season after being acquired in the K’Andre Miller deal, will enter camp in the running for the seventh defenseman spot. While Adam Fox, Sean Durzi and Braden Schneider appear locked into the Rangers’ right-handed defense spots, Morrow and Urho Vaakanainen could compete for a backup role.
