Rainstorm signal lowered from red to amber, while morning and full-day schools suspended
The Hong Kong Observatory lowered the rainstorm warning signal from red to amber at 7.47am on Monday, while the Education Bureau announced the suspension of classes at all morning and full-day schools.
The forecaster said that, under the influence of an active southwesterly airstream, heavy showers and squally thunderstorms were initially expected to persist over the vicinity of the Pearl River Delta on Monday.
Classes at afternoon schools would proceed as usual, the bureau said.
