Probe ordered into death of 13-year-old tribal school student in Polavaram district

A four-member committee has been constituted to inquire into the death of 13-year-old student Tellam Jahnavi of the A.P. Tribal Welfare Residential School at Kothulagutta in Polavaram district, officials said on Monday.Ms. Jahnavi, a native of Palluru village in Kunavaram mandal, was studying in Class VII. The committee comprises the Chintoor ITDA Assistant Project Officer (Tribal Welfare), District Medical and Health Officer, District Hospital Services Coordinator and Tribal Welfare Deputy Director of Polavaram district.On August 29, teachers at the residential school admitted Ms. Jahnavi to the Kothulagutta Primary Health Centre after she complained of vomiting.
