Priest held after being found in objectionable situation with girl inside temple

A 66-year-old temple priest was taken into custody after locals found him in an objectionable situation with a girl inside a temple at Ramachandrapuram.The accused, identified as Sayanna alias Sailoo, allegedly locked the temple from outside and remained inside with the girl. Locals who noticed the suspicious activity entered the temple and caught him with the girl. They informed the police, following which the priest was taken into custody. A video of the incident, reportedly recorded on the night of August 13, was also brought to the police’s notice.Ramachandrapuram Police registered a case and began an investigation into the incident. The police said the girl’s statement was yet to be recorded and her age was also being verified. Further action would be taken based on the investigation
