President launches inpatient rehab program for stroke patients

President William Lai (賴清德) yesterday launched a pilot inpatient rehabilitation program for stroke patients, providing up to 180 days of intensive daily care to aid their recovery.The program is expected to serve 1,600 to 2,000 patients annually, said the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA), which is implementing the pilot program for rehabilitation wards under the National Health Insurance (NHI) system.The president attended the launch ceremony at Yuankuo Hospital in Changhua County, one of 10 healthcare facilities participating in the pilot program administered by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
