Portugal classified 155 new rare diseases in 2025

Portugal classified 155 different rare diseases for the first time in 2025, the year in which 1,803 Rare Disease Cards were issued – 13.2 per cent more than in 2024 – covering a total of 594 conditions, according to the DGS.
