Ports integrating AI for sea safety, cargo management

By Shelley Shan / Staff Reporter Add TT as Preferred Source Taiwan International Ports Corp (TIPC) said it has completed the installation of a smart harbor-entrance safety monitoring system, using artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor vessel movements at commercial ports across the country.The system enhances the commercial port operators’ water safety management capabilities by replacing traditional port patrols with a proactive warning mechanism.Maritime and weather information from the Central Weather Administration are to integrate into the system, sharpening its capabilities to respond to disasters and emergencies.
