Pope tells Family in the Woods parents he's praying for them

Pope Leo XIV on Wednesday replied to a May 28 letter from the parents in the 'Family in the Woods' case saying he was praying for them amid their efforts to reclaim the three children stripped from them because of their allegedly detrimental off-the-grid lifestyle in an Abruzzo forest. Leo "has taken note of the content of their letter" and "remembers them and their family in his prayers," said Catherine Birmingham and Nathan Trevallion's lawyer. The attorney, pro-life and family values campaigner Simone Pillon, said the parents expressed gratitude to the pontiff "for his attention and prayers." A court in L'Aquila ruled at the end of April that an appeal by the Australian-British couple against a juvenile court's decision to eject the mother from the foster home where their three children
