Police officer’s body recovered from Fatullah home

Police recovered the body of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) from his home in Fatullah, Narayanganj, on Tuesday night.The deceased, Md Abu Hanif, an armed police ASI, was found at his residence near Isdair Pouro Stadium at around 8:00pm, said Anowar Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Fatullah Model Police Station.Abu Hanif, son of the late Yakub Munshi, was from Ichhapur village in Kalihati upazila of Tangail. He had been living in Isdair with his wife.Police said he was posted at Narayanganj District Police Lines and had been on five days' sick leave since July 25.Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Tarek Al Mehedi said Abu Hanif's wife is speech-impaired and the couple had no children.
