Poland Proposes European Legion With Ukrainian Veterans

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski advocated for the creation of a permanent “European Legion” during an interview with Ekathimerini. He suggested the force could recruit combat-experienced Ukrainian veterans post-war to bolster European defense capabilities. Sikorski emphasized that Europe must take greater responsibility for its security rather than relying solely on the US, while maintaining that the proposed force would complement rather than compete with NATO.
