PNP to track down internet users generating, sharing malicious deepfakes

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will pursue individuals who generate and share deepfakes, or photos and videos created by artificial intelligence (AI) using the likeness of real people, following a reminder from the National Privacy Commission (NPC). In a statement on Thursday, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. directed their Anti-Cybercrime
