Pilandok to intensify into tropical storm by Sept. 1

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Pilandok is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm by Tuesday, Sept. 1, and remain a tropical storm as it moves toward southern Japan, the state weather bureau said Monday. In its 5 p.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Pilandok was located 1,145 kilometers
