Phillies send scouts to watch two Giants position players on trade block
The Philadelphia Phillies are one of the National League's top contenders. Interim manager Don Mattingly has helped turn the NL East club around after a rough start to the season. Before the trade deadline, the Phillies could be on the lookout for a right-handed hitting outfielder. One name Philadelphia reportedly has some interest in is Heliot Ramos of the San Francisco Giants. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Phillies and Seattle Mariners were among two organizations to send scouts to Monday's Giants game against the Kansas City Royals. Scouts in attendance also kept an eye on utilityman Casey Schmitt, per Slusser. Ramos hit a solo home run against Michael Wacha, continuing his hot stretch since returning from the injured list.
