Peru Mining Employment Tops 291,000 in June, Up 11.1% on Year

Direct employment in Peru's mining sector averaged 291,044 workers in June 2026, up 11.1% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Energy and Mines reported. Contractors drove the increase, while Arequipa remained the top regional employer.
