Patuakhali AL leader dies at DMCH while in jail custody

Former vice-chairman of Patuakhali Sadar Upazila Parishad and district Awami League member Mizanur Rahman, also known as Monir Khan, died yesterday while undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital after spending nearly 11 months in custody. He was 48.His funeral prayer was held at the Patuakhali Sadar Upazila Parishad ground at 10:00am today before he was laid to rest at his family graveyard.Mizanur Rahman was the son of the late Abdul Khaleq Khan of Bahalgachhia village in Patuakhali Sadar upazila.
