Paddy McGuinness to switch on Blackpool Illuminations with free concert headlined by iconic boyband

20,000 free tickets are up for grabs11:14, 30 Jul 2026It has been announced that Paddy McGuiness will be the next star granted the distinct honour of switching on this year’s Blackpool Immuninations.‌The Bolton-born comedian and TV personality, who has fronted shows like Top Gear and Take Me Out, joins an expansive roster of alumni given the top role including Tim Burton, Barbara Windsor, Mel B, and even the likes of racehorse Red Rum and The Muppets star Kermit the Frog.‌In fact, Peter Kay, who Paddy starred alongside in Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere, also turned the lights on back in 2014.
