The John Bull Chophouse in the town centre has been badly severely damaged following the devastating blaze.‌Firefighters raced to the historic pub in the early hours of Tuesday (August 4). Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed no one was hurt.‌A police investigation was launched and a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson; burglary; and possession of class A drugs.
