Orioles claim Luis Robert Jr. off waivers as Mets shed $5 million
Luis Robert Jr.’s tenure in Queens is over. The Baltimore Orioles, who are just one game back of the Guardians for a Wild Card spot, claimed the outfielder off waivers from the Mets on Monday, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed. New York had placed the 29-year-old on waivers over the weekend, giving interested teams a 48-hour window to pick up the former All-Star and the remaining $3 million on his contract for 2026 — along with a $2 million buyout. Acquired from the White Sox in the offseason, the oft-injured Robert slashed .223/.303/.399 with 10 home runs and 23 RBIs across 58 games with the Mets.
