One killed as covered van rear ends 2 bikes, three-wheeler in Moghbazar

At least one person was killed and four others injured after a covered van lost control and hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and two motorcycles in Dhaka’s Moghbazar Wireless Gate on Sunday night.The victim, Zaman Ahmed, 42, of Narail Sadar upazila, was one of the motorcyclists, said police.The incident took place around 11:30pm in front of Grand Plaza Shopping Mall near Wireless Gate intersection, said Mohammad Yeasin Mia, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station.Sheikh Zahidul Islam, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Ramna Division, told The Daily Star that a covered van lost control and hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and two motorcycles while coming down from the Malibagh flyover.Five people were injured in the incident, one of whom later died.
