NT$1bn proposed for Eswatini project

‘GATEWAY’: About 60 Taiwanese companies have visited Eswatini to explore opportunities since the launch of the project in April, the foreign ministry said The government has proposed spending NT$1 billion (US$31.6 million) to build an innovative industrial park in Eswatini, aiming to support industrial upgrading and economic transformation in Taiwan’s sole African ally while helping Taiwanese businesses expand their global presence.According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ budget proposal for the next fiscal year sent to lawmakers last week for review, the ministry has proposed total expenditure of NT$43.41 billion, an increase of more than NT$3.8 billion from its budget for this fiscal year.Among the proposed expenditure, the ministry has earmarked NT$1 billion to fund the Taiwan Indu
