NSAB member calls for reverse migration to villages
National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) member G. Satheesh Reddy on Saturday called for reverse migration to villages, stressing the need to improve farm incomes and revive the rural economy.According to a press release, Mr. Reddy was speaking after launching the Atria Foundation’s Project Chittoor at the Agro Wellness Centre in Thirumalarajapuram of Palasamudram mandal. He said that India, which once exported agricultural produce, was now importing pulses and other basic crops, underlining the neglect of farmers and villages.He called for greater adoption of natural and organic farming to increase farm output while making rural areas healthier and more attractive for people to reside.Project Chittoor founder C.S. Sunder Raju said that a 600-acre integrated farm had already been developed.
