No problems for Clonduff and Portaferry as they open their championship campaigns

The Canal Court and Spa Down senior championshipClonduff 6-24 Ballygalget 0-6Ballyholland 1-6 Portaferry 5-15BOTH last year’s finalists Portaferry and Clonduff got off to flying starts in Wednesday’s Canal Court and Spa Down senior camogie championship fixtures.Portaferry got an early scare though against last season’s intermediate champions Ballyholland with Karen Maginn hitting their net in the 3rd minute. However midfielder Ciara Doran fired in a goal from a penalty in the 8th minute and Portaferry settled to edge a half that was evenly enough contested for the most part. The visitors led by 3-5 to 1-4 at the break with Áine Rossitor adding the two goals for the visitors, her second coming a minute before half-time. Karen Maginn and Kate O’Brien were the point scorers for Ballyholland.P
