New UK MOT rule has begun and 'will be mandatory'

The new "Photos at Test" feature is designed to help tackle absent vehicle fraud, commonly known as "ghost MOTs", where a vehicle is issued with an MOT certificate without ever being present at the test station.‌The DVSA said the national rollout, which began on August 3, followed two successful trials involving more than 300 garages across Britain, with more than 60,000 vehicle images uploaded and "overwhelmingly positive feedback from participating testers and garage owners".
