Nepal-based accused in killing of retired IPS officer’s wife detained under PD Act

A 29-year-old Nepal native accused in the killing of the wife of a retired IPS officer at their Prashasan Nagar residence has been detained under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act by the Hyderabad City Police.Sunil Bahadur Aauji alias Sunil Pariyar, a car driver from Navi Mumbai and native of Achham district in Nepal, was detained on Tuesday (August 11) under Section 3(2) of the Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act, 1986.Aauji is one of the accused in the killing of 62-year-old Tanuja Ranjan, wife of retired IPS officer Ray Vinay Ranjan, at their residence within the limits of Jubilee Hills police station on May 8.According to the police, Aauji and his associates allegedly hatched a conspiracy, trespassed into the residence, restrained and suffocated Ms. Ranjan to death, and es
