Nearly 865K New Yorkers collected welfare over past year – most in nearly 30 years: ‘Communist playbook 101’

New York City paid cash assistance to nearly 865,000 people over the past year -- the largest welfare caseload in roughly three decades -- as spending on public assistance climbed to a record $2.7 billion, a Post review of city records found.
