NCC reports operational issues with no members

By Shelley Shan / Staff reporter Add TT as Preferred Source The National Communications Commission (NCC) yesterday said it is unable to issue import approvals for certain radio-frequency devices, as the terms of its last three commissioners expired on Friday.The issue came to the public’s attention after a person posted on social media that an audio system purchased in Japan could not be shipped to Taiwan, as the NCC had no commissioners to approve the required certification. The product could be “seen, but not obtained” and might have to be returned to Japan, the person said.
