NB8 Nations Secure $1B for Ukraine’s Winter Energy Needs

First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) nations will work to attract additional financial and technical support for Ukraine’s energy grid ahead of the winter. Shmyhal noted that the NB8 has already allocated at least €918 million ($1 billion) in 2026 for energy infrastructure protection and recovery, adding that Ukraine is ready to share its expertise in defending against physical and cyber attacks.
