Navy commissions INS Nipun, boosts deep-sea diving & submarine rescue capability
The Indian Navy commissioned INS Nipun, a new diving support vessel, in Mumbai. This vessel enhances deep-sea diving and submarine rescue operations for the Western fleet. INS Nipun joins its sister ship INS Nistar, completing a two-coast capability. Built domestically, the ship supports saturation diving and submarine rescue missions. It also features advanced medical facilities for deep-sea diving emergencies.
