Police were called to Ashton-under-Lyne18:46, 11 Jul 2026Murder detectives have launched an investigation following the death of a man in a 'violent and shocking' early hours attack in a bar.Greater Manchester Police said that the fatal assault took place at a bar formerly named formerly known as Olivers Bar, now known as Blues Cabaret and Karaoke Bar, in Ashton-under-Lyne town centre. Officers were called today (July 11) at 2.40am and discovered a man in his 30s with serious injuries. He died at the scene.The deceased has not yet been formally identified, but the family of the man officers believe to be the victim have been informed.
