MLA writes to DCP seeking action against late-night firecracker bursting

Suresh Kumar, Rajajinagar MLA, has urged the police to take action against the repeated bursting of firecrackers late at night in residential areas of his constituency, stating that the practice is causing inconvenience to residents.In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Division, Mr. Kumar said firecrackers were being burst regularly in the jurisdiction of two police stations in his constituency, particularly after 9 p.m., causing disturbance to the residents of those localities.He said that bursting crackers during New Year, Eid and other religious or national festivals could be understood as part of the celebrations.
