Ministry touts its fraud prevention achievements

By Sam Garcia / Staff writer, with CNA Add TT as Preferred Source The Ministry of Digital Affairs’ scam reporting platform has received more than 1 million reports and taken down more than 500,000 scam-related messages to date, Minister of Digital Affairs Lin Yi-ching (林宜敬) said yesterday, adding that the cost of removing each message continues to fall as the number of reports grows.The ministry yesterday held a news conference on its fraud prevention achievements. The ministry’s online scam reporting and inquiry platform, which launched on Sept. 30, 2024, allows people to report suspicious online scams, with reports reviewed by authorities for rapid removal.
