Metrolink passengers braced for three weeks of disruption with lines to close
Passengers across the region will be affected11:15, 05 Jul 2026Tram passengers are braced for three weeks of major disruption as three Metrolink lines will close for improvement works. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) says works are due to take place at Deansgate-Castlefield, Trafford Bar and along the Eccles line.‌As a result, no trams will run on the Eccles, Altrincham or Trafford Centre lines. Services on the Manchester Airport and East Didsbury lines will terminate at Firswood, and will not continue into Manchester city centre as normal.‌The major works will begin on Monday, July 13, and continue for three weeks - with normal service expected to resume on Monday, August 3. It means that no trams will call at 31 Metrolink stops throughout those three weeks - including Deansgate-C
