Martin Lewis warns parents to 'act now' to secure £1.4k yearly payment

NewsCost Of LivingMartin LewisThe deadline is August 3114:35, 10 Aug 2026Martin Lewis has issued a warning to 'act now' to avoid missing out on a £1.4k annual payment.‌Parents or anyone bringing up a child are entitled to £27.05 a week in Child Benefit providing they earn £60k a year or under.‌But not everyone realises that the payment stops when a child reaches 16 and if they are staying in education or unpaid training, parents need to let HMRC know.‌Issuing a warning on social media, Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert said: "Child turned 16 and in full-time education or training?
