Market incentives and rising installed RES-E capacity encourage more BESS investment in Romania

03 September 2026 During August, the power output capacity of Romania’s BESS installations increased by 100 MW, while their storage capacity rose by 335 MWh, indicating significant expansion and a shift towards equipment with longer discharge durations. At the end of the month, Romania reached 1,094 MW of installed BESS power capacity and 2,310 MWh of storage capacity, Economica.net reported.
