Maple Leafs taken to task for Sergei Bobrovsky, Darren Raddysh contracts
It's easy enough to see what the Toronto Maple Leafs were doing with their additions of Darren Raddysh and Sergei Bobrovsky.Raddysh, in a sign-and-trade from the Lightning, and Bobrovsky, as a free agent from the Panthers, are both proven veteran contributors.Ironically, they're coming off very different years. Raddysh had the best season of his career by far in 2025-26. It was a struggle of a season for Bobrovsky, a decline from back-to-back Stanley Cups.Either way, they've proven they can perform in the NHL, and so the Maple Leafs went out to pursue them and land them this offseason.Bobrovsky got a three-year deal at $7 million per year.Raddysh got a huge eight-year, $8.5 million per year contract. They've been called a combo of two of the worst contracts of the offseason by Daily Faceoff
