Manchester United confirm third summer signing as Youri Tielemans arrives in £35m deal

The Belgian, who missed his country’s 2-1 defeat in the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a hamstring injury, has joined United from Aston Villa. The 29-year-old moves to the north west in a £35million deal, after Michael Carrick’s side triggered a release clause in his contract at Villa Park. Tielemans, who captains his country, has been a well-known fixture in the Premier League since first arriving in England at Leicester in 2019. He moved to the King Power Stadium on an initial loan from Monaco, before spending four years in the east Midlands. He then made the switch to Villa in 2023, making 134 appearances for the Villans. He scored 10 goals during his time in Birmingham. Now, he has made the move to United, following Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow through the door. “It’s hard to de
