Man shot dead at Khulna brick kiln

A 32-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants at a brick kiln in Rupsha upazila of Khulna early today.The deceased, Fakhrul Sheikh, was a resident of Noihati village, said Md Abdur Sabur Khan, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Rupsha Police Station.Quoting locals, the OC said Fakhrul occasionally worked as a security guard at his family's Rupsha Bricks following several incidents of theft there. He was staying on the brick kiln premises on the night of the incident.Around 1:00am, a group of assailants entered the premises, shot Fakhrul and fled.On learning of the incident, his brother Farhad Sheikh rushed to the kiln and found Fakhrul lying there with gunshot wounds.
