Man seriously injured in Near West Side shooting

A man was seriously injured during a shooting on the Near West Side Tuesday afternoon, according to Chicago police. The man, 23, was standing near an alley in the 600 block of West Roosevelt Road at 3:58 p.m. when a person approached him and fired shots, police said. He was shot in the chest and twice in the leg, and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. No one is in custody.
