Man sentenced to 40 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexual assault

A Hosdurg Fast Track Special Court has convicted and sentenced P. Saneesh, 33, to 40 years of rigorous imprisonment for repeatedly sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl. The offences were committed in 2023.Judge P.M. Suresh sentenced the accused to 30 years of rigorous imprisonment under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and imposed a fine of ₹50,000, with an additional six months’ imprisonment in default of payment. He was also sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment under Section 449 of the Indian Penal Code and fined ₹10,000, with another six months’ imprisonment in default of payment.
