Man killed, woman wounded in South Chicago shooting

A man was killed and a woman was wounded in a shooting in South Chicago. Jose Ariel Gonzalez, 40, and a 32-year-old woman were in the 8900 block of South Escanaba Avenue around 3:05 a.m. July 26 when they were both shot, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. Gonzalez was shot in the neck and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, police said. The woman was shot in the chest and went to Trinity Hospital where she was in good condition.…
