Man dies and at least six injured after sign collapses at Christian festival

The Big Church Festival, a Christian event in Wiston Park, Steyning, came to a halt today after the serious incident. The emergency services were alerted to the site at about 3.38pm, with critical care paramedics sent to the festival grounds. A 41-year-old man from Eastbourne died at the scene, the police said. His next of kin have been informed. Organisers of the Big Church Festival said that they have decided to close the event following the incident.
