Man, daughter killed after the man detonated explosives in Kalaburagi

​A domestic conflict between a man and his wife in Mataki Tanda in the Aland taluk, Kalaburagi district, took a tragic turn on Tuesday when he allegedly strapped quarrying explosives around his waist and detonated them in an attempt to kill his wife.​The blast resulted in the immediate death of the man and his 15-year-old daughter, while four others sustained injuries, according to sources.​The deceased have been identified as Shivalal, 49, and his daughter Meera. ​The critically injured victims include Shivalal’s wife, Savita Shivalal Rathod, 40, his son, Prakash Shivalal Rathod, 19, and relatives Surekha Chavan, 30, and her son, Vivek Chavan, 12.
