Man arrested on suspicion of ‘criminal damage and theft’ at Co Antrim war memorial
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and theft at a Co Antrim war memorial. Police said they had made an arrest during their investigation into reports of incidents at the memorial in Queen Street in Ballymena. The man remains in custody.A PSNI spokesperson thanked those who have assisted police in their enquiries, but added that the investigation “into these incidents is ongoing”. “I would continue to appeal to anyone who was in the Queen Street/Harryville areas early in the morning on Saturday, August 8, or Monday, August 10, and who may have noticed any suspicious activity or captured dash-cam footage which could assist with our enquiries to contact us.”
