Man arrested for killing his wife in Manki village

The police have arrested a man on the charge of killing his 27-year-old wife in Manki village of Uttar Kannada.Manjunath Naik quarrelled with his wife Mangala over a trivial matter. He strangled her while she was sleeping and falsely claimed that she died of a heart attack, the police said.He called her parents to say that she died on the way to hospital. However, they suspected him and called the police.In a complaint, they said that he used to regularly assault her under the influence of alcohol.Investigation led to his arrest.
