Man arrested for allegedly raping 82-year-old woman in A.P.’s Vizianagaram

The police arrested a 55-year-old man, Sheela Prasad Reddy, for allegedly sexually harassing an 82-year-old woman near the Garjularega limits on the outskirts of the city on Friday (August 28, 2026).According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, at the Women Police Station, P.V.V. Narasimha Rao the accused has been remanded to a jail in Vizianagaram. The accused allegedly raped the elderly woman who earned money through begging in and around Kothagaraham, Gajularega, and other places.Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar formed special teams to investigate and arrest the accused.
