Man, 59, dies following house fire in Bexley
A man has died following a house fire in south east London. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to the blaze on Bexley Road in Erith at around 5.50pm on Monday.Half of the first floor of a three storey house was destroyed by the fire, London Fire Brigade said. Sadly, a 59-year-old man died following the blaze. His family have been informed. One woman was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.The Brigade’s 999 Control officers were called at 17.27 and the incident was over by 18.41. Crews from Bexley, Erith and Plumstead fire stations were at the scene.The cause of the fire is under investigation.A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 5.56pm on Monday, 20 July to reports of a fire on Bexley Road, Erith."We sent resources to the scen
