Major milestone in huge £150m Metrolink works as closure update issued

Around 1.6km kilometres of track was dug up and replaced between Trafford Bar and Deansgate-Castlefield as part of a huge £150 million upgrade to Metrolink - the biggest upgrade in the network's history.‌Passengers faced major disruption amid the works, with replacement buses put on in the absence of the trams.
